Painting of family on the beach holding hands

I was commissioned to do this painting by a mother of her family holding hands looking out over the ocean. This is one of my favorite watercolors because it shows the connection of the family and the love they share for each other. It really touched my heart in a great way.

I really enjoyed using the bright summer colors in this painting. The bright blues and the colors in the clothes were achieved by using more paint and less water. The white in the waves were achieved by leaving the white of the paper showing with no paint being used what so ever. I used a toothbrush covered in paint to splatter on the painting to create the foam and waves.
