In the Moment
This painting was originally a part of a watercolor art show in September 2005 for Merrimon Galleries of Asheville. At the time I was struggling with placing my focus in the "now" moments of each day. I was worrying too much about the future. There in lies the inspiration for this painting. I wanted a painting that would be a reminder to me and others of how important it is to truly "Live in the Moment." I wanted to change my focus from worrying about the future to concentrating on each precious moment of life we are all blessed with. I now have this painting hanging in my home as my own personal reminder to live life in the moment!
Technique: For this watercolor I used very little water with the paint to get the bold black, green and purple areas of the painting. I also used many layers of paint in these areas to achieve the look I wanted.
