Little Boy in Blue

I painted this watercolor portrait for Cheri Britton who is a life and business coach in Asheville, North Carolina. This is a painting of her son Noah. I really enjoy painting people, especially children. Their eyes are so full of wonder and innocence. I love being able to capture that on paper and freeze a moment in time that can be cherished for years to come.

Technique: For Cheri's watercolor portrait I used a scraping technique on the fence. The paper is scraped with the edge of a knife, then paint is placed over the area to get the rough appearance. A sea sponge dipped in wet paint was used to achieve the background.
