Tennessee Farm House
I painted this watercolor for Elizabeth Tresize Barbour, a life coach in Asheville, North Carolina, as a wedding gift to her husband Eric. This house and land in Kingsport, Tennessee, have been in EricÕs family for many years and has been a place of many loving memories shared by Eric and his family. I had the privilege to see Eric's face when he saw the painting for the first time. One of the most rewarding gifts for me as an artist is to know I have touched someoneÕs heart with my artwork.
Technique: I used a watercolor technique called "wet on wet" to achieve the look of the clouds and the grass. First, the paper is saturated with water, then drops of wet paint are dropped with a brush onto the paper. A sea sponge dipped in wet paint was used to achieve the look of the leaves in the trees.
